it is hard to visualize what a thrift find will look like when updating your home, but that one interesting find can bring out something extraordinary into the room.

master bathroom double sink

I found a interesting double sink at the local habitat for humanity resale store, it has lovely marble look with seashell sinks. This beauty was only $40 (no picture before) and had our cabinet maker ready to build solid wood cabinets for the master bathroom. Sometimes we buy things and it dose not work as expected. Turned out the double sink was too big by 6 inches for the area. and cutting off 3 inches from each side was not an option as it would put the sink bowls way too close to the walls. So we designed a double vanity, cutting out the center of the sink base and adding pullout basket shelving in the center. We also utilized our brass hardware pulls to give a little bling.

Recycling vintage Cabinet drawer pulls and knobs

Lets face it, some of is like a little bling...
Which is very costly when building or just redecorating a home. I love the upcycling, or reclaiming unusual items for a one of a kind feel.
I found a treasure trove of drawer pulls and knobs that were used at a major furniture manufacturer before they shut down. Hand made and solid brass.
WOW....

This will give my custom cabinets a one of a kind feel and some bling in the kitchen, master bathroom and guest bathroom.
Just need a good cleaning but keep some of the interesting patina.

Glass tile decorations for guest bathroom

Many contractors or do-it-yourself folks have leftover pieces and tile that can be purchased very cheep. These interesting pieces can give your bathroom a one of a kind artistic flare.
Since i found a great cream and gold vintage sink these glass tiles will pop, with the cream tiled walls.

Guest Bathroom sink

Well our search is on for a bargain.  Current mega-stores have bathroom sink and cabinet,  but most are expensive and made of composite wood materials.  Found a artisan, locally who specializes in real wood cabinets,  just need sink and measurements.
pricing countertops and sink insert is also a lot if money and most sink tops are also a wood composite.
scavenging around found a vintage concrete or porcelain all day n one countertop and sink combo for $20. Just needs cleaning, wrapping and label for builder
